ASPHALT PRODUCTION MACHINERY
KVM supplies both complete asphalt plants as turnkey solutions, as well as individual components and upgrades to existing plants. Although most installations are tailormade to individual requirements, KVM has developed three major plant "models", namely Freja, Odin and Viking. These models are different in mixing speed, varying from 120-300 tph.


Cold feeding hoppers are designed modular in sizes up to 20 m3 and with individual speed of up to 150 tph. The fed amount is accurately controlled according to recipe and capacity, either by a variable speed control or by a fixed speed timer control.

Control system is based on Windows operating software. The plant is displayed graphically on the screen, giving an easy and full control of all operations and settings. It can run in either semi or fully automatic mode. All production data is stored in a database for quick quality documentation.

Drying plants are made with special emphasis on high endurance and operational economy. Drying drums are available in 2.2 m, 2.5 m and 2.8 m diameter. The stainless steel drum cover is corrosion resistant and reduces radiation heat loss.

Bag filters are designed for long life and low maintenance cost. A single unit has a capacity of up to 80,000 m3/h and several units can be connected for extra capacity requirements. The efficient cleaning process provides a low pressure and temperature drop over the bags, ensuring low energy consumption. The filter automatically changes between high/low flush speed.

Mixing towers consist of four main sections: Screen, Hot bins, Scale section and Mixer section. The four sections can be supplied "as a unit" of individual sections adapted to suit an existing plant. The screen section can be supplied for 4, 5 or 6 aggregate sizes, and the size is selected to suit the actual requirements. The silo section is insulated to reduce heat loss and noise, and has up to 7 individual bins (6 and by-pass) designed to suit individual requirements. The standard overall capacity is 40 t. The scale section normally consists of Aggregate scale (7 bins), Filler scale (4 types of filler) and Bitumen scale (2 manifolds).  Mixer sizes vary from 2,000 og to 4,000 kg and are prepared for adding of additive and recycling material.

Mixed material storage is provided in either round bins or square shaped bins, fully insulated. The skip hoist winch is controlled with variable speed, saving energy and reducing wear.

Recycle plants feed into the hot elevator or directly into the mixer.
